Government Scam?

The Do Not Call List attracted the numbers of thousands if not millions of Canadians. We forked over all the phone numbers we could think of in the hopes of cutting down the massive numbers of scam *cough* fraud *cough* telemarketing calls we get each day. These types of calls should not be allowed period, but of course, we will take anything our government gives us. Thus was born the DNCL.

The DNCL was supposed to stop the calls from everything except Canadian registered charities, political parties and candidates, newspapers, businesses that you have done business with in the past 18 months, or a company whos product you have touched, tasted or even thought about in the last 6 months. PIZZA!!! Well now Pizza Hut, Pizza 73, Boston Pizza, etc can now phone you since I made you think about one of their products.

The worst part about this DNCL is that it is being sold to telemarketers. No, not sold for a few dollars so they can know who not to call. It is being sold for $11,280 for the entire list, or $615 for a specific area. The catch for telemarketers? Well this is how the call must go down:

"Hello... (pause) HELLO!?!"
In a foreign language "Hello Mr. A...pl Appl... Apel..."
"Mr. Apple you fuck face."
"Hello, I am phoning you this evening at 6pm probably while you are eating to... (sniff sniff) Is that Spaghetti? Anyways, I am phoning you to see if you have time to take a survey on our newest product."
"No, my damn food is getting cold. I thought I registered my number on the Do Not Call List... Please remove my numbe..."
"GOOD!! OK THEN! Would you be interested in buying this very handy 'thingamabob'."
"No, not at all. Now PLEASE remove me from your cal..."
"ALRIGHT THEN, to do that, I need your phone number..."
"You called me, shouldn't you know it?"
"Your name?"
"No, just remove my number."
"Your credit card number?"
"WHAT?!"
"Your bank pin?"
"Fuck this."
*Hangs up*
"Your S.I.N?"
"...and finally your permission to ruin your life... of wait, it says that part is optional."
"Sir? Hello?"
*Click*

OK, so just remember, DO NOT ADD YOUR NUMBER. I hope somebody starts a class action lawsuit.

Coalition / Politics / Dion

I am posting this in response to the public out burst of anger over the NDP - Liberal coalition government. They plan on over taking the Harper government which would bring Dion into the Prime Ministers chair.

I for one am not overly concerned with a coalition government. Maybe it will help the federal government get some work done. As you may not have noticed, Harper seems to be ignoring the biggest issue right now. The economy. He claims we are going to be fine, even while the businesses that make up this country come crashing down. OH! No Mr. Harper, we will be JUST fine... no need to panic yet, the TSX just lost several billion dollars.

No, the problem I have is who is going to lead this part. Mr. Stéphane Dion. Yup! The guy who brought the Liberal party to their knees. The guy who was the main reason the Liberal lost so much last election. The guy who was about to get his ass kicked out of the Liberal party because he did all that. Suddenly, he will become our Prime Minister? Only in Canada...

Another reason I am worried is because all of this is making the separatists scream out even louder. Western Canada and Quebec want out. Aren't we supposed to be proud to be Canadian? proud to be a part of Canada? Not anymore. I for one am ashamed to be Canadian. While I don't believe in separating to resolve our differences, we have a lot of work to do to get this country back on track. Slowly, Canada is being pulled apart at the seams, and sooner or later we will come apart and the sweater is ruined. (Anybody know a good seamstress?)

On a related note, as a member of CPTDB for almost 1 year, I have never seen our board fall apart as much as it has today. It's not so much the political topic, but the members right, it seems, to cry when they disagree with something. If you are going to be human, you need to get the f**k over the fact that somebody disagrees with what you said. Instead of politely sharing your thoughts, you have to close off a thread or personally attack another member. This is uncalled for and child like. Learn to be a little more understanding and you won't be killed in this world as fast.

Sick....

I am so sick of Canada. Just after an election, our government is on the brink of collapse. On top of that, the separatists of Western Canada and Quebec are shouting louder than ever. What has become of this country? Are we even a country anymore? I doubt we can call ourselves that since we are being pulled apart thread by thread. Good job, I am now ashamed to be Canadian, for the first time in my life.

Half a RAWR!

I thought I would get around to posting something yesterday, but I slept through most of it. The same happened today but I am forcing myself to make a post. I think I might be sick with something as I woke up at 2am this morning with a pounding headache. I stayed away until 5am when I think I passed out because of the pain. This wasn't any normal headache, not even a migraine. Well maybe a migraine since I had nausea. It felt like somebody had ripped the top part of my face off and was drilling into my brain. It was horrible and I hope I never have to have another one. Come to think of it, I did go to bed with a little headache, but that was hardly anything. I also woke up again at 9am with a headache although not nearly as painful as the one was last night. Lets hope it just stays away.

I can't wait till I receive my iPod Touch tomorrow! Well I am trying to keep my hopes up, but on the website it says "PREPARING ORDER" still, which leads me to believe I will still be waiting for it come next Monday. (I just rechecked the thing and mine still does say "PREPARING ORDER" and the stock went from "IN STOCK" to "PRE-ORDER EXCPECTED TO SHIP BY SEPT. 23rd" which is tomorrow. I just have a bad feeling about this. Not much I can do, they have my money.)

I just started to read the first book based on the popular game RuneScape. It's called "RuneScape Betrayal at Falador". It's a very, very good read. It's so real to the game, which makes it easy to visualize the areas, characters and things. Check it out even if you don't play the game.

Last I will talk about the ETS Centennial stuff going on around the city on Saturday. Everything was fantastic including the DLM garage tour, the historic 202 Brill ride and the display of buses. The only turn off was the Ferrier Tour. It was more like a 5 minute ride on a bus through the garage, then a 1 hour recruitment drive. Really wasn't impressed. There are times and places to try and boost your employee count, and a celebration is not one of them. Also being under 26 doesn't make your attempt to employ people any more "fun", since you wouldn't be able to hire me anyway.

All in all the ETS Centennial Celebrations were great, although a lot of it was focusing on the present and future. I would have liked it a lot more if they went into the history a bit more instead of providing us with a bunch of historic buses and unanswered questions. Don't get me wrong!! I did enjoy the buses! ;)

Something cute to brighten your day!

Oh and just so you know I will be blogging tomorrow since I was out for 12 hours today and I'm dead tired!

Happy Time!

Most of my blogs have been about bad things, or things that just aren't "positive". Well that's about to change!

I got my refund from The Source with a "We are sorry, we hope to see you again soon!". PFFT! As if... Anyway so I ordered my iPod from Apple, making sure to skip the so called "Free Engraving". All that is is a guaranteed sale for them because once it's engraved you can't return it. Anyhow, I was thinking I would try the express shipping, but found out that it wouldn't get it here any faster since they won't ship before the 24th anyways. I was going to go with the 16GB Silver Nano, but I ended up choosing the Black one of 16GB as well. YAY for FREE shipping. Tax was a bitch. Now I sit and wait.

I also spent 8 hours yesterday completing THIS. Yes, another drawing of a bus. This time the Prevost XL-II (My favorite bus in the world). You can guess how excited I am that it's finished!!

On another note, I'm kinda sick of the teachers at my school screaming at the top of their lungs to communicate with somebody sitting right in front of them. I am trying to get work done, but shitting my pants every time you start talking doesn't help. Do you know anybody who screams to communicate? Yes, No, or I Do are your choices! Leave me a comment and I will reply!

That's it for today! Later!

*Grumble Grumble* Online Shopping *Grumble*

With the release of the new Fourth Generation iPod Nano by Apple, I thought it was time I bought one. I kind of needed it because none of the LEGALLY downloaded music from iTunes would work on my brand new $120 Creative Zen. Would I crack and go back to illegally downloading music? No. Nope, I put down $219 on an iPod Nano while I chucked my Zen in the trash. (Not really, I still have it.) Now I have a $120 Zen I can't use, and a $250 iPod I can't get! The Source has delayed shipping of the new iPods because they claim "Apple's shipment won't come until the 26th". I noticed other stores have theirs already, while others are getting theirs very soon. I asked The Source to issue a refund and cancel the order, but so far I have been ignored. This reminds me that when I ordered my Zen, they claimed they ran out of stock and it might be a month for I see it. Turns out after a couple of really angry emails they seemed to have found some and shipped it out really fast. This time it's not working. I suggest never shopping at thesource.ca or Radio Shack (both are the same company).

As for what I'll do now? I'm thinking of going back to illegally downloading music and I'll do it with pride. JUST TRY AND SUE ME! I HAVE NOTHING ANYWAY!

The Music Industry Screws Me Over Again!

Once again the music industry has found a way to screw me over, as well as countless other people. By now you've probably heard of the DRM seal of approval being locked onto every song you buy on CD or download online. What does this do? It prevents perfectly law abiding people from ripping CDs to their computers so they can then put the music on their mp3 or iPods. Oh and I'll get to iPod/Apple in a minute. Anyway, this little ball and chain keeps music from being transfered illegally, right? WRONG!!! A big W-R-O-N-G! With a few programs and a little bit of time I can ruin the audio, but atleast I have the satisfaction of removing the DRM lock. The music industry needs to put more pressure on programs like Limewire, as well as people who download music illegally to stop it. But until then I'll continue to by my music just to listen to it on my computer.

Awhile back Apple released a online store for music called iTunes. iTunes fit right in with the iPod, iMac, iMovie, iRack, iDryer, iStove, iHouse, and iOwntheworld products and applications. This wonderful program might seem like the perfect solution to people looking to download one or two songs from Albums, then transfer them directly to their iPod, and it is. Notice how I didn't say anything other than the iPod. Yeah, that's because that music you buy then try and transfer to anything other than an iPod has an enhanced DRM lock on it made of fluffy bunnies that attack you if you try and break it. Call it a copyright protection lock, I'll call it BS lock. This lock prevents any other mp3 from playing that music unless you break the lock with alot of work and time.

What does this all mean? It means my $120 video mp3 is useless, and now I have to try and find cash to buy an iPod just so I don't have to go through all that crap everytime I buy a song LEGALLY. I guess their BS worked on me. Don't ask me why I continue to support just a stupid industry... oh wait it's because it's not the artists fault.

Sorry I needed to vent that. Now time to stand up and smash a pricey electronic item.

I WISH DEALTH UPON THE PHELPS FAMILY.

Thank you to by gay friend who pointed this out to me. This family has so much hate to gay people, they have gone to far lengths to protest this. Included disturbing grieving families who are trying to bury their sons and daughters who are killed in war by holding signs that say "God hates fags." and "Thank god for dead soldiers.". These are the same people who were planning to protest at Tim Macleans funeral, saying "God is punishing nations that accept homosexuality." These people believe that if your child is killed, they deserved it.

I have lost hate for everything else but these people. I have focused my energy on trying to bring down these EVIL FUCKERS! God help them if they dare step anywhere near me.

In the following two videos, you can see Tyra Banks.

In this video, the Phelps are trying to get police protection from the PUBLIC.

Back, yes I know...

I suck at keeping a blog updated. Well I hope you all enjoy the new layout. It's a little brighter! There are a few topics I will touch on today which include Olympics, Toronto explosion and the Russian/Georgia war.

First off, the Olympics kicked off with a wonderful opening ceremony on 08.08.08 (a number considered lucky by the Chinese. Oh and I wouldn't touch the Tibet situation with a ten foot pole. I can see China put their heart and soul into hosting these games. I am glad to see China get a chance to show how beautiful their country really is. At the moment China is in the lead with 8 medals, six of which are gold. The USA has 6 medals, 2... OK I JUST GOT AN UPDATE! USA is in the lead with 11 medals, 3 gold. China has 8 medals, 6 gold. Korea has 5 medals, 3 gold. Wow, congrats to everyone! Oh and Canada is in 64th place with a grand total of zero medals. (I'm sure that will change.)
WELCOME TO BEIJING!

An explosion rocked Toronto at 4AM this morning (Aug. 10th). A propane factory went up in flames and typically the propane exploded. If you watch the videos on YouTube, it almost looks like a bomb was dropped. The two big questions now are: Why did this happen and WHY THE #@$% WAS A PROPANE FACTORY IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD?! I hear the one firefighter lost his life, and an employee from the factory is missing. I would like to see the government actually take a look into this, instead of sitting on their lazy asses like normal.

I heard that Russia and Georgia are at war. All I really have to say on this issue is that Russia needs to respect Georgia's borders. Stop the war, talk like Georgia offered, and lets settle this already. How many people need to die?

Agree or disagree with any of my thoughts above? I want to hear from you! LEAVE A COMMENT!

I AM GUILTY BECAUSE I AM A CRACKER!

I want to know how many white people are sorry for what "THEY" did back many years ago when the black people were used as slaves. How about the residential schools "WE" (YOU and ME personally built BEFORE we were born) made those natives go to.

I feel 105% guilty because of somebody else's actions!!!!! Why? I have WHITE SKIN!

I am at fault when those white cops in the US constantly shoot black people because they believed they had guns. I should have flown there, and stopped them because I am white.

*END OF SARCASM*

I agree what "has" happened was horrible, but just because I am white, doesn't mean I feel the actions of others were justified. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE, I AM NOT AT FAULT, AND I WILL NOT HANG MYSELF BECAUSE OF IT.

Sorry I really needed to vent that.

Eight hours on my feet!!! SORE!

Yeah so I had my first 8 hour shift in produce this morning/afternoon, and it SUCKED! I thought 6 hours was rough, and hell I was right, because 8 hours was fucking HELL! My legs are worse than my feet... because they had to bare my weight for that amount of time. Well I told my manager I will do the 6 hour Thursday shift, and the 8 hour Saturday shift, and the 8 hour Sunday shift, and the 4 hour Monday shift, but I won't be doing any more 8 hour shifts. I might do them once in a while as long as I am paid full time wage on those hours.
SaveOnFoods

What made today worse is my co-worker asked me to hold his hairy balls today (Kiwi fruit that was deformed and looked like a pair of nuts). Also this red onion was on the floor by this guys foot, so I said "Excuse me, I just have to grab this." and he said "Grab whatever you want little boy". Now I wanted to just dismiss that as a joke (his tone sounded like a joke) or I misheard him. Any which way I got the hell outta there!

Also I am going to pick up my PSP on THURSDAY!! Yay much for meh! I am sooooo jumpy about it I just have to buy some accessories for it tomorrow, just to cure my craving for PSP OMG PSP OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG PEA ES PEA! (Sorry for the insane burst) Beh Beh!

Review Friday!

Photobucket
I thought I would start something new. I noticed some other people that blog do reviews on products or services they use, so I thought why shouldn't I give it a try. Every Friday, I will post on my blog, a review of a product I just bought or a service I just used. I hope you enjoy!

Product/Service Name: 5 Gum
Price: $1.50
Purchased from: Save-On-Foods
Packaging rating: 8/10
Actual product rating: 8/10

I really enjoy this gum. After seeing the commercials on TV, I was in the store and I saw it on the shelf and thought I would try it. I am glad I did. I will try and walk you though. After buying 5 Gum, I ripped off the plastic wrap which had the UPC and ingredients. I was left with a pretty neat looking box, and I mean that in two ways. One, it had a handy tab to hold the flap closed when not in use, and second, it was a cool little black box. Look at the photos below:
Photobucket
Photobucket
Inside each piece is wrapped in a blue foil wrapper.
Photobucket
There are 15 sticks of gum. The taste is incredible but the only thing is, it lacks strength (not "spicy" enough). That is more personal preference I guess. It comes in 3 flavors, of which I have tried just the one "Cobalt". The flavor does last longer than most all other gums, which I am sure a lot of people like in gum. One other flaw I should point out is that it is a little bit much for packaging (Foil wrapped gum held in 3 bundles with paper, inside a box, and inside plastic wrap), which I care about because its a lot of waste. Other than that I highly recommend you at least try 5 Gum!

OMGWTFBBQ!?!?!?!? Another blog post...

My apologies for that brief bit of insanity, but it was necessary because I am making another blog post! I KNOW! AMAZING! I just thought I would fill you in on my life up to this point.

First up, I got a job at Save-On-Foods! Yeah so now I can save and get that all important Sony PSP I want sooooo bad. I want it mainly because my friend showed me it when it was first introduced, and I was amazed. Maybe it won't be as exciting anymore because times have changed and things become old, but I will find that out after I spend my $170. If anybody of you have a PSP, let me know what you think of it, what games I should get, and also if the movies are good quality or sh*tty graphics.

Next on my agenda of things to discuss would be the music that should be playing right now (If you haven't already muted it). It's Edmonton's newest radio station, Capital FM. They play everything oldies, and as everyone assumes, it's meant as a replacement to Cool880 which is going to switch to all news format. I liked Cool880 but never gave much of my loyalty to it. That's why I thought I would become loyal to the newest addition Capital FM. One thing I was uber-impressed by was the "jingle" I heard just 10 or so minutes ago. It was something like "Capital FM, Sherwood Park's radio station.". I know Capital FM is based from Edmonton, as are all the stations I get, yet I have never heard any other stations refer to Sherwood Park as one of there listeners. It's nice to know that at least one station realizes they serve communities surrounding Edmonton as well!

In closing I wish to apologize to the other members of CPTDB.ca for my abrupt departure from the board. As I stated before I "boiled over" and needed a break, and I will be coming back as soon as I can. Please realize this had nothing to do with anybody from the board, rather from my school, job, and family life colliding all at once. I am hoping I can be back... well maybe even today! Hope to talk to you all soon!

Ageism / Adultism / Zellers

I will now never shop at the Zellers store in Sherwood Park. I was in the electronics department looking at speakers, which I picked up and took to the scanner (Nothing in that store has a price tag.). After choosing to buy the speakers, I went back to electronics to look at a phone cable extension. When I was in the isle looking for where they kept it, this lady (maybe 60) walks around the corner (Nobody else was in the electronics except the guy at the till she ignored to talk to me.), and says "Can I help you?" in a very rude sounding tone. I then said "Yes, could you please tell me where the phone cables are?" (Yes, my parents did teach me manners.). She then said "They're over here!" once again in her rude tone. I thanked her and began my search. When I was finished I wanted to check the price of the cable since the speakers were on sale. When I started to walk toward the closest scanner (otherside of store), she quickly walked behind me and then shouted, "Where do you think your taking that?!?!?". (Note that only items behind the glass need to be bought at the electronic counter. Also she abandoned the other customer again.) I quickly replied that I was just heading to my mom (Who was by the scanner). She then said "Oh, fine then." and wandered back to the counter. That was the end of it since when I went to put back the cable I had my mom come with me.

I am sickened by the lack of respect. It wasn't so much that she asked me what I was doing (I had nothing to hide), but the tone and rude conduct she presented. I realize teens do shoplift, but adults do it just as much. I'll be damned if I let people get away with this. In a bit I am phoning Zellers to talk to the management, as well I will let my friends know to avoid shopping there. Also look in the Sunday paper for a letter about ageism.

Now you tell me... Am I wrong? Will I look like a fool?

Blogging more / Long weekend / Broken headphones

Hello, hello! I am back after what seemed like a long break. I hope to start blogging a little more often. I guess that is all I have to say about that for now.

How was your long weekend? Post a comment and tell me about it. Mine was long, plus I had an extra day because I slept in today... well yesterday. Easter was fun, lots of food and chocolate. Hmm, thats about it... I guess I need to start doing more stuff to make my blogs more interesting.

Oh, my headphones are broken, so I need to find out how to replace them. They are Sony's which I bought back in January. The sound only comes out one side. I tried looking for a way to replace them on Sony's website, but I can't seem to find out what to do. I hope Zellers will replace them or whatever but yeah... any ideas, please comment and tell me! Thanks!

Canadian in Mexican Jail

First off, before reading my post, read this news story.

-------------------------------------------------------

This woman named Brenda Martin had been locked up in a Mexican jail two years ago when she was charged with money laundering and conspiracy. Her boss, who was the mastermind behind this whole thing even swore under oath that she had no part in this crime. Why is she still in jail??? Because she is on foreign soil and they can do anything they please with her. Who should be stopping this bullshit? Stephen Harpers government, but they are avoiding the issue. Why? Because they are low life fucks who could careless about the people of this country. Look who the Canadian people elected into government. Wait, come to think of it, the majority of Canadians didn't want Stephen Harper as PM, but since their votes are divided among the other parties, our system puts the party with the largest number of votes into lead seat. Fuck that!

Now back to my point... fuck Stephen Harper! Fuck the Conservatives. If you take a look at their website, conservative.ca, you might just notice that 90% of it is attacks on the other parties. Time after time, we have been shown that attack ads or "mudslinging" gets a country NO WHERE! Where are the fucking plans, the progress, the information on how to contact them to offer input. NOT THERE! Thats why I say fuck Stephen Harper and the Conservatives.

OK, seriously back to my point. This woman has been abused, gang raped and threatened, yet our government sits in the corner sucking their thumbs. Where do our rights play into this? Well, alot of her rights have been violated. Read up on them here!

A former PM came to the jail to see her, but is only sending a letter to the Mexican government to tell them to consider letting her go. Mexican Government... "Hmm, a letter from Paul Martin telling us to let Brenda go... HA!" Pieces of shit!

What we need to do is cut off all trade with Mexico and then send troops there to blow the fucking place up and rescue Brenda. Come on we have to do something!

Can you tell I'm pissed? I am, because if I was to leave this country for whatever reason, I would like to know that the government has my back, which the Canadian Goverment bigots clearly don't. Pathetic!

Strathcona County Transit Ridership (1st post!)

HAHA, so my first topic will be about the ridership with SCT. I see time after time, buses heading to the Transit Centre (TC) empty or with 1-2 passengers. Not only is this a waste of time and money, it is doing nothing for reducing pollution. A bus carrying one person is way worse then a car carrying one person because it burns more fuel. SCT needs increased ridership, but people like me can't do it alone by telling people to take the bus places instead of driving or getting a ride. If you think about it, Sherwood Parkians (made up word) rely on their cars WAY to much, but is there really anyway to change that? The government keeps on expanding roads making it easier and easier to take a car someplace, but if they were to close road lanes and make them only for buses would that help? I don't think so, it would probably just piss people off, but what about education? Would informing people what the benefits of public transit change any minds? I think it would be worth a shot to put a million towards educating the public about transit, the benefits, and what not. Maybe, if anything, the gas prices this summer will help to change some minds and have people think about alternatives to driving. At $1.50 a litre, a $50 transit pass doesn't sound bad at all. Yet, SCT will probably have to increase fares and pass prices to keep up with fuel prices but I really don't know what diesel will cost soon. even if the price of passes reached $100 it would still be a bargain because the average person with an average vehicle uses about $45 of fuel every week. Yes, I don't expect people to switch over to transit all at once, nor use it for every trip, but if people would just take a week and ride the damn thing, they would see its so easy to get around the park, and even into Edmonton where taking transit is even easier. What are your thoughts? Thats all for today!
